Today we pay tribute to an innovator, inventor and inspiration to the Fashion World – Mr.Karl Lagerfeld.
Born in Hamburg, Germany as Karl Otto Lagerfeld, he was best known as the man who brought about the modern revival of Chanel. Till his death, he was the creative director for Chanel and Fendi. His signature look includes pairing a ponytail hairstyle with dark sunglasses.
Known to push boundaries, he never shies away from extravagant, out of the box fashion shows. His vision and passion when it comes to fashion, is distinctively pronounced. He was dedicated to his vision and the art of visual impact, which can be seen in his designs, fashion shows, short films, as well as the impact he has had on numerous fashion icons, gurus and models.
During my research, one of his fashion shows caught my attention and admiration; it is the one where he commissioned a rocket centerpiece for his 2017/18 Fall to Winter ready-to-wear Chanel Fashion Show. He designed a concept that matched his collection, which literally ended with a rocket launch. His dedication and ingenuity is something that we can learn from.
There is certainly so much more to this gentleman than meets the eye, and I do hope this short write inspires you to be your own inventor.
